Coastal WFC go undefeated in their first day at the Super Y League North American Finals

With the largest contingent of teams representing BC in the SYL North American Finals there were lots of eager eyes watching todays competitions.

Our U-13 Girls claimed a hard fought goalless draw with New Jersey's Parsippany SC.  From all accounts this game was a battle fromstart to finish and our girls were full merit for their performance.

Our U-13 Boys defeated another New Jersey club in Match Fit Chelsea Academy 2-0 in a game that could have gone either way but thanks to some fantastic goalkeeping by Coastals "Captain at the back" our boys walked away victorious.

In U-14 Girls action there were some unforseen circumstances that resulted in last minute scheduling changes.  Our girls started today having to play two games (rather then the usual single game).  Full marks go the the players and staff for the calm and confident manner in which they faced this challenge.  The team walked away with 6 points from two 1-0 victories.  The first one over Michigan's Kalamazoo Kingdom and the second over TSF Academy.  The U14 girls now get 24 hours off before they have to face TSF Academty for the second time.

The U-16 Girls defeated Canadian opposition in the form of Ottawa Fury.  Our girls dominated this game from start to finish and frustrated Ottawa into a fury ;-) by cruising to a 2-1 victory with a third goal that was called back on a questionable offside decision.

For our U16 Boys a frustrating start saw them struggle to take the lead in the early minutes...several quality chances failed to be converted.  Their opponent, Florida's HC United took advantage of this by managing to move into 2-0 lead by half time.  Some strategic words of motivation by head coach (and former Whitecap) Jason Jordan saw our boys dominate the second half and strike three unaswered goals to put away HC United 3-2.
